Author: LaurenJust sending out another update of the past months Competitions I’ve been competing in over in Europe!
We had the world championships in Copenhagen, Denmark about 3 weeks ago. Trainings has been going really well and feeling better than I have in a long time, or ever have, so i went into the worlds feeling really good. Unfortunately that race didn’t bring the results. Had some trouble bringing my great training form onto the track come race day. I then went to Holland for 2 weeks with the Australian team to train at their Olympic training facility’s leading into the next race, which was held on the weekend just gone. The London Olympic test event on the Olympic track, 1 year out from the games. This time I brought my good form with me and had a really successful weekend. We did have some crazy weather at times, and the schedule of the event was delayed a lot, but London really turned on the weather when race time comes around. I finished with 2 podiums over the weekend, a 2nd in Time trial which has always been a weakness for me, and a 3rd in the racing on Saturday. Felt really good to get these results at such an event, with all the top riders competing in the, not one big name wasn’t out there and being one year out on the exact track gives me a lot of confidence to better that result this time next year.
Next race in the final round of the Supercross world cup series in Chula Vista, USA in 5 weeks times, again on the Americas Olympic training track!
Really looking forward to this race and to bring my overall World cup ranking to the top. Currently ranked 6th.
I also finished over the UCI year after worlds with an overall world ranking on number 5.
I also picked up a new sponsorship with Oakley eye wear in London, so just want to say a massive thank you to Steve Blick and Oakley Eyewear!
Again thanks to everyone who have helped and supported me and a big thanks to All my sponsors!

Hey guys,
Heading back home to Australia tomorrow so just a small update from my past 2 weeks of Europe
We started in Papendal, Holland for the second leg of the Super cross BMX world cup tour. Track was wild and was supposed to be very similar to the London Olympics track, with a few slight differences. Felt awesome going into the race, practice went smooth, but had a major drama in my Time trial lap which is how I qualify to race! Started with a really fast lap, had the fastest time by quiet a lot, came into the 3rd straight which was a really technical rhythm section, lost control slightly, which was enough to blow my left hand off my handle bar and came down hard. New rules this year with only 1 chance to qualify, with this crash, I missed the top 32 cut, Which meant I was watching from the sidelines of Saturdays racing. Super disappointed but took out some major positives which I will take to the world championships in 7 weeks’ time! Biggest race of the year
Team Australia then flew out to Copenhagen to spend 2 solid days dialing in the World championships track so we are set for some big results in under 2 months’ time. Felt great on the track and am bringing back the confidents to get some Podiums finishes!
From here half the team including myself flew to Beautiful Switzerland for rounds 4 & 5 of the European championships. Day 1 i got on the box with a 3rd and Day 2 finished up with a 6th. In the past I have really struggled racing in Europe with their style tracks and being so different to SX BMX which is what I train for, so to make both main events and grab a podium isn’t too bad in my eyes.
Back home tomorrow, couple days to relax and back into a solid 6 week block preparing for the world championships in Copenhagen, Denmark which is massive points and selection positions for the Olympics next year. Feeling good, ready to go
Massive thanks to all you guys for helping, supporting and believing in me! Still have a massive year ahead and looking forward to the journey. I will try and keep everyone updates after all the major events so you know what I am up to! Get really busy traveling so much…
